Wearable technology just received a very stylish upgrade. Today musician and entrepreneur Will.i.am released i.am+ Buttons—a pair of Bluetooth headphones backed by magnetic metallic discs that look a lot like sleek vinyl records.
[post_ads]The fashion-forward new design comes from the creative mind of André Leon Talley, former Vogue editor-at-large, who serves as style and fashion director of Will.i.am’s wearable-tech firm. “i.am+ has allowed me to fuse fashion and style with technology like it’s never been done before,” Talley said in a statement. “People now have the opportunity to make a fashion statement with technology.” One example of how: i.am+ Buttons can quickly morph into a necklace, as the discs snap together magnetically when the headphones aren't in use.
The product, a partnership with Apple, is backed by fashion A-listers. Style icons Naomi Campbell and Kendall Jenner are co-owners of the company and have taken part in the Buttons publicity campaign.

The goal is to blend the worlds of technology and fashion. “Technology doesn't have to look like technology. Everyone else is making what everyone else is making. We wanted to do away with all that,” said Will.i.am in a statement. “Now that technology is ubiquitous, shouldn't you look fresh?”i.am+ Buttons, which cost $230, are now available for purchase at iamplus.com, Apple stores, and apple.com.
