Don’t get mad at yourself if you have a habit of misplacing your phone. Instead, use the frustration it causes, to yell at your phone as loud as you can. Why, you wonder? Well, because it will yell back at you to help you locate it.
A new app called “Marco Polo” developed by a Canadian app developer Matt Wiechec helps you locate a misplaced phone just by shouting at it. The users just have to yell “Marco” and the phone replies “Polo”.
Once the phone hears you shout “Marco” it shouts back saying “Polo” giving you audio clues to trace down the phone. “In those moments where we have all lost our phones to the sofa cushions, or left them on the coffee table, or in the bathroom, we now have a fun way to find them again,” Wiechec said in an interview.
While most people who bought this paid app gave it positive reviews, there are a few issues with the app. For one, the app tirelessly shows a red bar on top (same as while we make a call) of the screen, which indicates that the microphone is on. The bar stays put as long as the app is switched on. This makes it very difficult to navigate around the phone and makes the homescreen look ugly. However in spite of a few niggling issues, the app has garnered neutral reviews and can come in handy to locate misplaced phones.
