This possible iPhone feature could end up being a total game-changer

By Jill Layton, Hello Giggles

There’s possibly a new iPhone feature coming soon that could make managing your files so much more efficient. Thanks to a leaked listing of an Apple Files app on the iTunes App Store, it looks as if a file management app will be included in iOS 11.

Apple’s big Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicked off at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday. The conference is being held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California through June 9th.

But Apple may have accidentally given away a major piece of news before the conference even began.

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith spotted a placeholder listing for an Apple-developed app called Files. The listing has since been deleted, but Troughton-Smith took a screenshot, because he’s savvy like that.

There are very few details, but it looks as though the app requires iOS 11, which obviously hasn’t been announced yet, and the icon is a macOS-style folder, as The Verge pointed out.

But what does all of this mean for you?

You may soon be able to keep your files directly on your phone, instead of using iCloud or various apps. Of course, you’ll have to wait until the WWDC keynote to find out exactly what Apple’s plans are for file management.

Troughton-Smith also discovered another now-deleted listing for the Activities app that would allow you to finally delete those annoying built-in apps you never use and are just in the way.

So basically some cool new things could be happening on your iPhone very soon!
