Quixey is a search engine that looks for apps developed by almost all the major manufacturers and carriers from around the globe and finds the apps you’re looking for, accompanied by suggestions of course.
The search engine is capable of finding almost any app and the best part is that when you enter a query, it prompts you to select a platform namely – Android, Windows, iPad, iPhone and Blackberry. Quixey works on the lines of how Google operates – most relevant items displayed first with identical suggestions following the original search item.
According to the developers, Quixey powers 100 million app queries monthly and is constantly working to make app search a simpler task. Quixey is backed by major search engines such as Ask.com, Skyfire, DuckDuckGo and Microsoft. The company was founded with an initial $75 million funding from e-commerce giant Alibaba in 2009.
